Nella (Chapter 1)I woke up to the sound of birds chirping outside my window. The sky was filled with clouds and there was one gap between the greyness where light shined down right in my eyes. I squinted and rubbed my face. The smell of freshly baked bread filled my nostrils and I sighed. I wriggled my legs underneath my ragged blanket, the material scratching my skin.
